When did Time leave the business of reporting and enter the business of hagiography and delusion? This article deserves a full and brutal fisking but its outright deceptions and brazen disregard for reality make it hard to know where to start.
Read this ridiculousness:
But by Election Day 2010, Obama will have soundly achieved many of his chief campaign promises while running a highly competent, scandal-free government. What? Keeping campaign promises? Highly competent? SCANDAL-FREE?
Seriously. I have a no curse word rule on this blog and even I want to say "Are you Sh*tting me?" Rather than bother with links just search my blog for posts titled "Bad Politician Bad" for the complete and utter decimation of these claims.
Time goes further with this A Report Card on Obama's First Year which appears evenhanded (5 things "right", 5 things wrong) but I'm too scared to open the links and read what Time thinks for fear of my head exploding.
I mean who dare I read further when the original article contains stuff like this:
Obama's two best personnel decisions are probably the two men serving right below him: Vice President Joe Biden and White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel. Yes, Biden still falls victim to caricature as an irrepressible big mouth and is the butt of late-night jokes. And Emanuel can be overly brash and flutter nerves on Capitol Hill and among Administration allies. But Obama knew what he was getting in both men, and they have performed up to or above his expectations. Those two men have performed precisely to everyone's expectations. Biden is a buffoon always has been and Emanuel, well, Emanuel has been acting like a Chicago pol since day one. This is what Time is serving up as "best personnel decisions".
Well I suppose Time is right since Obama's other choices have been either communists (say, Van Jones) and tax cheats (entire administration).
Just how stupid do the journalists and editors of Time magazine think its readers are? Well based on this article, Time magazine thinks you are a drooling retard.
