Offshore Drilling Plans Under Gun After Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill It was a Santa Barbara Oil spill that sparked Earth Day and the environmental movement and now this accident may put the kibosh on new drilling. I hope there is an honest and thorough investigation of the cause of this tragedy because I'm wondering terrible things, particularly about the timing of all this.
