British news reports highlighted the fact that the new U.S. ambassador there, Louis Susman, has been called "the vacuum cleaner" for his ability to pull in political donations.

Someone who was serious about hope and change would have changed this ridiculous American habit of granting ambassodorships to cronies. It's a form of political patronage that should not exist in merit-based American society.
