I was thinking about how many Americans considered FDR to be a "class traitor" because he attempted socialistic wealth redistribution during the Great Depression.
I suddenly realized that while we don't emphasis "class" per se as much as we do "socio-economic differrences", so the sense of "class" is still there.
But being a class traitor has changed. Now, you are a class traitor if you are an ethnic minority who either does well or refuses victim-status. You are a class traitor if you change your political status from liberal to conservative. Other class traitors are those who get educated beyond their peers. Etc.
But I think the ultimate class traitor are the liberals who promote one thing and do another. Claim to be on the "little guy's side" and then enact victim-status policies or urge us to shrink our carbon footprints while they emit around the globe.
Many of the policies Obama and Congress are trying to cram down our throats are, collectively, a vast class traitor action in that they will destroy jobs, lives, American culture, and via stifling innovation and entreupenurship, prevent people from rising out of the "socio-economic standing".
I know I would feel betrayed had I voted for Obama.
