Like The Weather

Mark Twain once said, sure everyone talks about the weather but no one ever does anything about it.

The press today are acting like the weather, they are talking about their fawning coverage of Obama but they aren't doing anything about it.

Apparently to question The One is tantamount to building your own weather machine - cartoonishly villianious. And who wants to be like that and not allowed into the White House Press Room?

Over at SFGate.com, Phil Bronstein has a posting up that can't quite criticize Obama (although he does snipe) yet he does call out the mainstream media for its big fat wet smooches on all things BHO.

You can't blame powerful people for wanting to play the press to peddle self-perpetuating mythology. But you can blame the press, already suffocating under a massive pile of blame, guilt, heavy debt and sinking fortunes, for being played. Some of the time, it seems we're even enthusiastically jumping into the pond without even being pushed. Is there an actual limit to the number of instances you can be the cover of Newsweek?
