Obama Slips in Polls as Crises Dominate First Year as President

Three hours into another Sunday meeting at the White House last March -- faced with the ongoing threat of the collapse of the financial system -- he told Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, economic adviser Lawrence Summers and participants in the Roosevelt Room to stop debating and deliver a plan to restart bank lending.

He said he was going to his barber and then to have dinner with his family. The president wanted a decision when he returned at 7:30 p.m.

I don't know about you but there is something repugnant about a leader who won't take the time to thrash out important national policies with his advisors. Pathetic.

While the rest of the article tries to be sympathetic, leading with this paragraph is, well, the drawing of a long knife on the part of the press. Whether said knife goes back into its scabbard or into Obama's political career is something else entirely.
