Sharpton: MLK's Dream Was 'To Make Everything Equal in Everybody’s House' Balony.
Dr. Martin Luther King wanted all humans to be treated with respect and dignity but not everything "equal".
I keep a list of his quotes by my desk and one of them is "If a man is called to be a streetsweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great streetsweeper who did his job well." The great man was saying take pride in what you do. We are all needed to make a whole and complete society.
And to my personal thinking as much as I love the arts, the health of my family depends far more on the good job done by our garbage collectors than on any athlete, artist or musician.
We are born with Free Will, but not necessarily equal willpower. It is our choices in our freedoms that make us, not some faux equality via wealth redistribution. Having money does not make you better than having Character.
