Win A Date With Obama?

Below is a description of a sweepstakes being offered by the DNC from www.online-sweepstakes.com The sweepstake I'm talking about here is part of the site's "premium membership" but I'm providing a link below and for the record, yes people win stuff. I, myself, have won lots of things from a TV to a family trip to Disney World to $25K. The important thing to note here, however, is just how lame this DNC sweepstakes is.
Democratic National Committee - Backstage With the President Sweepstakes
Prizes (3): 1-night trip for one from within the continental United States to Las Vegas, NV including airfare, hotel accommodations, ground transportation to/from airport, Admission to the Moving America Forward rally in Las Vegas, NV and meeting with the President of the United States backstage at the rally on October 22, 2010 (ARV $1,200).

This is the description from the entry form:
Go backstage with the President
Too much is at stake in the November elections for any of us to sit on the sidelines. The President is fired up -- traveling the country to make the case to voters. On October 22nd, he'll be meeting three supporters backstage at a rally in Las Vegas.

Fill out the form to the right to be registered for a chance to meet the President backstage in Las Vegas.
The lame tagline at the bottom is just priceless, "Powered by hope and supporters like you."

All this begs the question, is the DNC so desperate that they are willing to run a sweepstakes in order to collect the names and addresses of the folks who enter in order to build a mailing list for 2012? I mean, even if I liked Obama, I wouldn't risk the thousands of phone and mail solicitations that would inevitably result. Remember, politicians exempted themselves from the National Do Not Call List.

Plus, I imagine the three rubes who win will have to go through a security background check. That sounds like fun.
