Obama is attempting to scare us into submission (the usual tactic for authoritarian socialists/communists) by claiming everything is "essential", a "crisis" or worse.
Here immigration "overhaul" (aka amnesty) is "essential".
And here consumer "protections" (aka more government regulations) are "essential".
It was the same with TARP, the porkulus, the climate bill, and the healthcare "reform" (aka the road to socialism).
Clearly, like all the other end-is-nigh leftwingers, Obama believes we are too stupid to think for ourselves. But crying wolf over and over again only leads you down the path of irrelevancy.
Especially in the cases of PETA and the fly, Al Gore's failed predictions, and most liberal causes in general because there is NO WOLF, just a dog that might need some housebreaking.
If these jokers spent less time trying to manufacture crisis and more time actually trying to solve the real world problem, then they'd - well - they'd be conservatives and taken seriously.
