"It's Like A Snowman Puked All Over The Livingroom"
I know two kids who are definately on Santa's Naughty List.
Watch this video to the end to hear their distraught mother speak the words of the title of this post. I was almost in tears for the poor woman.
To her credit, she was about a thousand times calmer than I would ever have been.

You know what's disturbing about this video? That it exists.
ReplyDeleteWhy does the mother have a video camera running? She has it for one of two reasons, and she either knows of the mess before the has it, or she doesn't. If she doesn't know of the mess, she has it because there's something she's going to video tape. But then she sees the mess and keeps recording.
Or, she sees the mess and goes to get her video camera.
Either way-- what a horrible example of a parent.
She mutters near the end, "What am I going to do?" Well, I'll tell you what you're going to do. Put down the camera, grab them both by their arms, swat them both seriously on the backside, and place them in two separate corners. Then go get the vacuum and get started cleaning up this mess.
My guess is that the OWSers had parents with similar "Oh my gosh!" attitudes toward discipline.
AND THEN she posts it online so everyone can see that's she's a sorry excuse for a mother. Pathetic, I think.
(Sorry for the rant, Kris!)
Sorry it took so long to post your comment.
ReplyDeleteI definately see your point and felt about the same as she just kept filming and filming without raising her voice to her children. I do however understand her feelings and reactions as I have not only experienced it myself but some neighbors have as well.
The shock of seeing the scope of destruction one small child can do can be overwhelming. While normally the sort of parent who would do exactly as you described above, I have been in situations (thanks to my son) where I've been struck dumb, gotten the camera to record the horror, and then went into fetal tears for say half an hour before disciplining and cleaning.
