Facing an "Interesting" Medical Decision

I may need a hysterectomy.

And the thing of it is, I've always imagined I wanted one - just to be done with the whole menstrual thing. But when the doctor explained everything and my options are, well, I am "fine" but face some serious risks if certain decisions are not made. The (medical) "C" word was used.

Emotionally however, I am a wreck. I will be losing the place where I grew my beautiful children inside of me. I don't know why I am so thrown by this but I am.

So intellectually, I am fine with just getting the surgery over with but emotionally, I'm kinda weepy.

Do any other women feel that way about this sort of thing?

I used to be a longtime subscriber to Newsweek but then I found its tone changing unpleasantly.

Or perhaps, I changed.

Anyways, Newsweek has a rather strong liberal bias. So when Newsweek runs an opinion piece that pretty much calls Obama "disappointing", "wobbly, weak, if not inept", and "failed abysmally", when Newsweek says those things, it is bad.
