A website well worth checking out. As a stay-at-home mom, I especially appreciate this post.
I have actually been introduced to people at my husband's business events who, upon hearing what I am, have actually turn away from me. Dismissed like I just announced I panhandled for a living.
I don't think so. And I love this blogger's honesty about life in the mom lane.

This is the first of your posts I've read, and I already feel the need to comment. I, too, am a stay-at-home mom and I also get the turn-away. Like we should be embarrassed by our lack of ambition or something.
ReplyDeleteI can just tell I'm going to like your site.
April - I would scarely call it "lack of ambition". I worked for over a decade in advertising (NYC, etc.) putting in the-devil-wears-prada hours and chose to stay home because I just couldn't see bringing a child into my life and then having someone else take care of her/him.
ReplyDeleteWhat I do at these sorts of business events is when it comes time to hand out business cards, I hand out my own homemade ones.
Made my own title and everything - "Trophy Wife"
Gets 'em everytime.
Thank you so much for the post! You really made my day.
