Cornwallis Surrenders, Daughter Born

On October 19th, 1781, General Cornwallis surrendered to General George Washington on what is now known as Surrender field in Yorktown, Virginia, effectively ending the American Revolutionary War.


Nine years ago today, my daughter was born to her American mother and British father. Who would have thought...


(In a weird coincidence, our second child is born on the day England officially proclaims an end to hostilities in America.)
